April Favourites 💜

I haven’t filmed or written a favourites post in ages. There’s been alot of things I’ve been loving this April so thought I’d share them with you.

  Artist: James Bay

Album: Chaos and the Calm

This album is most definitely my favourite this month. It’s been on repeat daily for the past few weeks and I absolutely love it.

It’s one of those albums that puts you in a really happy mood. My favourite song is a toss up between Let it Go and Clocks Go Forward. The latter track sparked an idea for a story in my head so I’m looking to see where that goes in the coming weeks.

If you listen to one album this month, let it be Chaos and the Calm.

I know this shouldn’t be in my April favourites when it was out in March, but I saw it for the second time at the beginning of the month and loved it even more than I did the first time.

It’s so beautiful and magical and the casting is brilliant. Well done Kenneth Branagh. My favourite film of 2015(so far. We have of course got Pitch Perfect 2 to look forward to. I can’t wait).

The Fatal Englishman by Sebastian Faulks.

Having read and loved Birdsong I thought I would give this one a go. I’m only a few pages in,but I’m already hooked.

Sebastian writes so beautifully and in such depth that you know the characters really well. I love him as a writer and I can’t wait to really get stuck into this book.

My black jacket from H&M

I wore it alot during my weeks work experience at TV Choice and a lot since I’ve been back at uni. I love that it’s simple but adds a bit of a professional feel to any outfit. This is one I will definately be wearing alot over the coming weeks.

Make Up

Natural Collection lipstick in Cranberry

I love this colour lipstick a lot. Since I got it for my birthday I’ve been wearing it quite a lot and it’s become my new favourite make up essential.
What have you been loving this month? 💜

Work Experience:TV Choice

To celebrate getting my first three bylines in TV Choice magazine, I thought I would do a blogpost about the time I spent there doing work experience a few weeks ago now. (I planned on getting this post up earlier but deadlines got in the way).

Jacket: Forever 21

I got on the train from my nans Ono central London feeling nervous yet excited. Having done work experience at the main Bauer office before, I was excited to see its other office.  I arrived at 9.45 and was greeted in reception by the lovely features editor,Elaine who gave me my own pass to get in. I got a bit excited because it said freelancer.

On arrival into the office I met the rest of the features team before sitting in one some meetings. After that I was put straight to work, finding news stories suitable for the magazine, researching information for a set visit and watching TV programmes before writing about them. It was a great first day and I knew instantly that I was going to enjoy the rest of the week.

Jumper: Primark

Skirt: New Look

Entering the office on Tuesday I got straight to work finding more news stories and writing features. One of the perks of the job was getting to watch TV before it aired. I sat and watched new sitcom Brotherhood which I enjoyed. I later found out I was getting the opportunity to tag along to a table interview with the cast on Thursday. Exciting stuff.

Jeans: Topshop

T shirt: River Island

Jacket: H&M

By Wednesday I was getting used to the routine of commuting into London every morning. Although tiring I felt like I was part of the group of people on the morning train. Good for people watching.

I had a news meeting that morning where I sat down with Elaine and some of the team and discussed the news stories I’d picked and which would be suitable for the magazine. I then wrote up the news section which got included in both additions of the magazines. My first bylines! So exciting. I also wrote up the main piece that was put in this weeks.

Jumper: New Look

Skirt: Primark(bargain price of £1)

Having gotten used to going to Camden every morning it was odd taking a different route to Tottenham Court Road for the table interview. Exciting though and worth it to experience my first interview situation. Although I had prepared questions I was a little afraid to ask them so left it up to the professionals.

After the interview I got back to the office and wrote about another TV show before going for coffee with Elaine where we got to have a chat about how I was finding the experice etc. I told her I was enjoying it a lot and asked if I could go back. Luckily she said yes and I’m returning for another week in January which I’m excited about.

We then walked to the station where we said our goodbyes. Elaine wasn’t going to be there on Friday due to being on set but we did we would keep in contact.

T Shirt: River Island

My final day at the office. I had so much fun that I didn’t want to leave. Before I did though I transcribed the interview from the previous day,and wrote another piece. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tv Choice/Total TV guide. The staff are lovely and I feel I learnt alot during my time there. I can’t wait to go back in January.

Top 10: Disney Films

Top 10:Disney Films

I was going to do this tag as a video as I’d already filmed it, but then when it came round to editing I found I kept saying the word ‘like’ a lot and just didn’t like the sound of my voice that day. So I thought I’d do it as a blog post instead.

Without further ado,and in no particular order I give you my top 10 disney movies.

10. Tarzan
I absolutely loved this film growing up. It was one of those films that I watched on a daily basis and one that never fails to make me cry. Most recently Phil Collins I’ll Be In Your Heart was played on mine and Sammeh’s radio show and oh man,it bought back all the Tarzan memories.
9. Frozen
This couldn’t not be in there. I mean who doesn’t love ‘Let it Go’,Idina Menzel and most importantly Olaf.
8. High School Musical
If like me you were about 12 when this film came out you knew all the words and dance moves to this film and wanted everyday when you went into school for everyone to be dancing on the tables then you can understand why this is in my top 10 list. If not, then where have you been? I was obsessed with this film at the time, so much so I made a magazine about it, which seems quite fitting considering i’m studying Magazine Journalism at uni. Compared to the magazines I create now though, that one was no where near a magazine. Still doesn’t stop me singing along when it comes on my phone though. Go Wildcats!
7.The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire and Rome. Need I say more? Oh wait-hey now hey now this is what dreams are made of.
6. Lilo and Stitch
Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 22.59.58
‘Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or fogotten’ Who doesn’t love stitch? I remember I got so excited when I saw Stitch at Disney when I was 10, that everytime I watch it, I think of that memory.
5. The Princess Diaries
SHUT UP! The first film that made me fall in love with Anne Hathaway’s acting. Truly brilliant. Who doesn’t want to be a princess? I certainly do,well this film made me want to be anyway.
4. Pretty Woman
Now this originally wasn’t in my list. But a few days ago whilst I was scrolling twitter(as you do),I stumbled upon an interview on Today in America, which said Disney bought the rights to it. I love this movie so much. All the Pontin family household do actually,so that’s probably why I do too.
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 22.42.47
This was one of the first films that made Keira Knightley my idol. I loved this film growing up, still do. You cant beat Keira and Orlando Bloom together in a film. The seven year old me was disappointed when I found out they weren’t together in real life, but they’re film chemistry more than makes up for it. Of course I can’t mention this film without mentioning Johnny Depp either. He truly made Jack Sparrow his own.
2. The Parent Trap
This was originally my number 1 but it got moved up one because a new film has just taken it off by a notch. The Parent Trap was and still is one of my all time favourite films. I know it pretty much word for word. Handshake and everything,so if you haven’t seen it,then I’m not the one to watch it with, unless you want it repeated in your ear. This film also really made me want to go to camp and never fails to make me cry.
1. Cinderella(2015)
The new adaption is now my top disney movie of all time. I love it so much. I mean have you seen that dress? It’s beautiful. The film itself is so magical and brilliant and if you haven’t seen it,you need to! You must always have courage and be kind.
What are yours?
E ❤
